How do you use your strengths in your job? You
can’t be deterred from your goals by obstacles. I have had to overcome
many obstacles in my career as an athlete and in running a business.
For example, when training for the 2002 Olympics I tore my ACL
in my right knee three months prior to the Olympics. I was able
to rehab my knee and compete against the best in our country and
the best in the world to gain a spot on the 2002 US Olympic Team.
What was your biggest learning challenge
in school? I was always a procrastinator in school, and it still remains a
challenge. I work well under pressure though, and I think that
helps to balance out my tendency to procrastinate.
What
motivates you to go to work? There are so many possibilities
for what we are doing at the sports facility. It’s exciting to
watch the business grow and flourish as it becomes more successful.
Every job has specific skills. What do you
need in yours? Problem solving and perseverance are critical skills for
my line of work. My background as an athlete is a part of what
I doeveryday in my job. I coach kids to be better athletes and
successful, well-rounded individuals. |
