How do you use your strengths in your job?
Learning the intricacies of machining can be intimidating to some,
so I use my interpersonal skills to make students feel
comfortable with both the subject and with me. My analytical
skills help me assess students’ learning styles and then
adapt my teaching methods accordingly. My even temper allows
me to be the same person every day.
What was your biggest learning challenge in school?
I did not enjoy reading very much, so book reports were always
hard for me. However, I could read news for hours.
What motivates you to go to work?
I have the opportunity to teach students how to become competent
and productive in an advanced manufacturing environment that
uses state-of-the-art machines to produce products with incredible
precision. I love watching a student transform in a few short
weeks from being intimidated by the technology to being comfortable
operating the machines.
Every job has specific skills. What do you need in yours?
I need patience, the ability to multi-task and know how to engage people
and get them excited about machining technology. |
